Due to some good rainfall on the Granite Belt, a weekend/double foray will be held in Girraween National Park on Saturday 11th of April and at Wilson’s Downfall on Sunday the 12th. These forays replace the scheduled visit to Cunningham’s Gap and we apologize for the short notice.

The Granite Belt has a very different environment to the QMS’s usual foray areas. The quartz and clay-based soils are nutrient poor and acidic, yet they support a rich diversity of plant and fungal species.

For information about some of Girraween’s fungal species, go to the unofficial Girraween National Park website.
