A Feast of Fungi – August Forays in Finland, Estonia and Latvia
This illustrated talk will look at the different habitats and fungi to be found in three eastern European countries in August, with some comparisons with Australian fungi of similar genera.
The information for this talk was gathered by Fran Guard in a three week period of walks in National Parks of Finland, and forests and woodlands in rural Estonia and Latvia. She was fortunate to spend one day with two mycologists from the Latvian Mycological Society, who could identify to genus (and usually to species) almost every fungus we saw!
It was an unforgettable experience and getting to eat several of the fungi was an additional bonus.
